PotashCorp Soccer Kids In the Park

Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc. is proud to announce the success of the PotashCorp Soccer Kids In the Park Program, which ran this summer from July 5^th to August 20^th, 2010 and took place at 45 various City of Saskatoon playground sites Monday through Friday.

This was the 3^rd summer for this exciting community program and it was developed in order to create soccer programming during the summer months free of charge in a park locations close to home for all boys and girls ages 4 to 12.  The program was coordinated by two energetic certified Soccer Program Leaders with the ambition to make soccer fun and enjoyable in the parks!  This program is intended to increase the enjoyment and participation in soccer through eliminating financial & transportation barriers and providing positive mature soccer role models.  This program also aims to increase the soccer "hype" during the summer leading into indoor for current and potential future soccer players.  We hope everyone has had a fun and enjoyable summer with our soccer leaders and look forward to seeing many of you continue the love for soccer into this indoor season!

Saskatoon Youth Soccer would also like to thank the Government of Saskatchewan Community Initiatives Fund for their support of PotashCorp Soccer Kids in the Park.  Also, thanks to the City of Saskatoon for allowing our program to be a part of their summer playgrounds program.

The Soccer Kids In the Park program in 2009 was a huge hit with an increase in participation of 65% from its first summer in 2008!  The program continues to be a great success with another increase this summer of 25% from 2009!   Be sure to check out this fantastic free drop-in soccer program next year!!
