SYSI League Finals

SYSI INDOOR 2025-26 LEAGUE FINALS - Sunday March 1, 2026*
* U17-U19 Premier Academy Finals will take place on Sun Mar 22, 2026 in Martensville

Qualifying teams will be updated in this article and within the RAMP schedule as they become determined.

Teams are reminded of SYSI League Permit Rules (pages 10-12) for finals:

13.4 Youth teams shall not utilize permit players from a higher division, a team from within the same division, or an older age group. Youth teams shall only utilize the services of a permit player registered with another youth team in a lower division or a younger age group under the following conditions:

13.4.1 Permit Grid - important notes: * City League players may only permit to the Alliance League a total of three (3) times within a season.  * Alliance players cannot permit to the City Rec League (except U15 Alliance Div 3 players permitting to U15-U19 City Rec). * Alliance Div 3 teams cannot permit players from an Alliance Premier division.

13.4.2 The permit player must be registered with another team in the same zone.

13.4.3 The permission of the coach of the permit player must be obtained.

13.4.4 The name of the permit player must appear on the game sheet with the word "PERMIT" or “P” written beside their name.

13.4.7 It is the responsibility of the team to ensure that all its permit players are eligible to participate in that capacity.

13.4.17 For both indoor and outdoor league playoffs and championship games, permit players will be allowed to fill the roster up to the normal number of players on the pitch during a game plus one (i.e.: 7 players for 6v6, 8 players for 7v7, 10 players for 9v9, and 12 players for 11v11); but shall not exceed a total of 5 permit players. The players permitting may not play in any other league playoff or championship games.

Questions about permit players for finals: It is not the responsibility of the referee or an SYSI staff person to determine if the game sheet of players listed is within SYSI rules prior to the start of a game. The responsibility lies solely with the team. If coaches have questions about the permit rules they are advised to contact the office prior to the weekend by Fri Mar 7, 4:00 PM by phoning 306-975-3413 or email admin@saskatoonyouthsoccer.ca.

 

Alliance League - Immediately following the completion of each final, teams and spectators are to proceed to the indoor commons area at the north end of the Saskatoon Sports Centre and Centennial High School cafeteria. A medal presentation will be provided by SYSI staff as well as an opportunity for a team photo. This new protocol will ensure games following each final match will not be delayed by on-field medal presentations.

City Rec League - medal presentations and team photo will take place on field immediately upon completion of the match.

 

Not all divisions have playoff or semi final matches. Large divisions with seven or more teams may have been allocated playoff or semi final matches only if all teams had an excessive number of exhibition games and maintaining even rounds was possible. Exhibition games at the start of the season were replaced by playoff or semi final matches at the end of the season for applicable divisions. These divisions have the same number of total games per team as any other division without playoff or semi final matches.

Playoffs (PL1, PL2, etc.) ending in a tie at the completion of the regulation time shall remain tied except where a playoff game determines a winner for another playoff game  such as PL1 in U13B3, U15B2, U15B3, U17-U19G-2 -- if tied will proceed immediately to shoot-out to determine winner, no overtime periods. Facility space does not allow for extra time to be allotted, nor was additional time collected within the team fees for this allowance.

Semi Finals (SF1 & SF2) ending in a tie will not be allotted overtime periods, however will proceed immediately to a shoot-out (penalty kicks) to determine a winner for the Final match. A shoot-out is necessary for these games as a winning team determination is required for the Final. Overtime is not provided as facility space does not allow for it nor was additional time collected within the team fees for this allowance.
